The Goodwill Foundation was established because the need for Goodwill programs and services in our area is so much greater than our retail operations can fund. We need the sustained efforts of our Foundation to attract philanthropic dollars - in the form of cash, stocks and bonds, charitable estate bequests and trusts, real estate, and other planned gifts -to fund current services and capital improvement and to build an endowment that guarantees future Goodwill services.
Governed by a local board of recognized community leaders, the Goodwill Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. All gifts are tax deductible as provided by law and are greatly appreciated.
A specialty of the Foundation is its charitable estate planning programs. Relationships with prospective major contributors and their financial advisors are emphasized. The Foundation has created a Professional Partners Program made up of area attorneys, CPAs, trust officers and other estate planning professionals. Their charge is to keep abreast of Goodwill programs and services and be prepared to explain the Foundation's work to clients who are considering planned gifts.
