- Foundation Funding Priorities
- The following are Goodwill programs appropriate for designated gift consideration based on our mission - Goodwill turns donations into good jobs, good homes and good neighborhoods:
- GoodwillWorks! Annual Program Cost: $500,000
- Our GoodwillWorks! Program provides jobs for individuals with barriers to employment and provides personal/family assessment and on-the-job mentoring/coaching to move employees toward their life goals. Included is our Good Partner Coach Program.
- JobsPlus Annual Program Cost: $150,000
- Our Supported JobsPlus Program intentionally recruits, hires and addresses the individual employment needs of persons with severe disabilities. Persons with developmental and physical disabilities suffer one of the highest unemployment rates of any group in our community. Our Supported JobsPlus customers are integrated throughout our 34-location, 500-employee organization. They are not segregated in a single, sheltered workshop. Each placement is expected to be long term employment.
- Job Connection Annual Program Cost: $100,000
- Our Job Connection Program helps people with special needs assess their career goals, prepare resumes, build interviewing skills, identify prospective employers, set up interviews and apply for appropriate community-based jobs.
- GoodHomes Annual Program Cost: $150,000
- Our GoodHomes Program prepares families for mortgage pre-approval and helps them find affordable homes or offers the opportunity to purchase a Goodwill-built or Goodwill-renovated home. Our HomeBuyer's Club markets the possibility of affordable home ownership to low-to-moderate income families and then guides them through a one-on-one financial case management process to mortgage pre-approval and home ownership. GoodHomes builds and/or renovates affordable homes for resulting, qualified buyers.
- GoodNeighbor Connections$50,000 per neighborhood location
- Our GoodNeighbor Connections Program builds community through strategic alliances and extensive information and referral services. We have the largest network of facilities of any nonprofit organization in Manatee and Sarasota counties: 34 current locations. Goodwill has begun the process of utilizing each of its locations as neighborhood resource centers. Trained community resource specialists will work with trained volunteers and collaborating partners to accomplish the following:
- Assessment of neighborhood needs, demographics and resources
- Identification and implementation of solutions to the most pressing neighborhood need
- Establishment of a neighborhood social service referral system that markets other providers' services, links neighbors to those services and assists providers in building their capacity to serve the neighborhood
