Become a Goodwill Ambassador
Become a Goodwill Ambassador
Goodwill Ambassadors are trained individuals who are committed to educate and share how Goodwill Manasota is in improving the quality of life for many by creating more jobs and creating more employable people. Our Ambassadors are tasked with speaking with service clubs, faith-based organizations, professional and youth groups, etc. and enlightening them about Goodwill's Mission - thus building awareness of the organization through their public engagements. There will be many opportunities for public speaking, as well as one-on-one engagements and events to volunteer. We equip our Ambassadors with the necessary resources to understand how Goodwill turns donations into good job, good homes and good neighborhoods.
Other opportunities include:
- Display our brochures and material on our mission programs
- Create a fundraiser for Goodwill
- Give Tours
- Speak on our behalf with your friends, social groups, Clubs, etc.
- Volunteer at our events or one of our programs
- Be of assistance to help others know how to make planned gifts

GoodNeighbor Interest Groups
Shoppers and donors at the GoodNeighbor Centers are surveyed during an event such as the annual Back 2 School Fair, to determine their interests/passions. Based upon the surveys, free interest groups are formed. Some current classes are beginners Spanish, intermediate Spanish, computers, beginners English and cooking. Groups meet each week with between 50 to 100 participating.
Volunteers who enjoy teaching the particular focus of the group are asked to be instructors. Other volunteers act as Group Facilitators who assist the Instructors by setting up the rooms, making copies of handouts, maintaining attendance records and calling group members who missed a class or to share important group information. Being an instructor or a facilitator is a 6 - 12 month commitment with substitute positions also available.
For more information please contact Rev. Dr. Thomas Pfaff, Chaplain/Director Neighborhood Organizing at 941-724-5018 or tomp@gimi.org.
